I came home from Peru and went back to the plasma chair. I had told myself the chair was for Peru, and Peru was done, so by my own math there was no reason to go. I went anyway. Somewhere in the months I had spent sitting there, the chair had picked up reasons of its own, and I had not noticed until the one I gave it ran out.
In the last post I told you I borrowed a chair twice a week and pointed the money at a trip. Peru was December 2024.
I kept going to the chair because I enjoyed just doing something positive, helping others, and also helping my scenario, plus reading Areté, just doing the right thing. I knew that it created the ability to give me that trip. I just wanted to keep going, plus I wanted to do another trip. So it was not all about Colombia, but that was part of it. Deep down I think Colombia, or somewhere cheap in South America, was already on my mind. I had been learning Spanish.
Peru got me into the chair when I needed a reason that would pull. The destination had done its job. It did not have to keep doing it.
Colombia came in October 2025, funded the same way. Thailand is next. It has to be booked for January, and I have not booked it yet. The aim keeps getting replaced. That is the upkeep on a borrowed structure.
I have not been to the chair in a while now. Freedom Renewed took its place. I am busy all the time, and the work I am doing here is meaningful, so that is what mostly sits where the chair sat. If I were not doing this, I would be in the chair twice a week, or doing my damnedest to be.
When It Arrives
If you borrowed a structure and pointed it at a thing, the thing will arrive. If you kept showing up, the structure has reasons of its own by then. The next thing on the horizon is a bonus. It is not the engine.
Have the next reason picked before you land, if you still need one. It does not have to be the true reason. It has to be there in time, or the structure has to have become its own reason by then. And when the structure itself stops fitting, let it turn into the next thing instead of calling it quitting. Keep going.
